Magin Lab: Bio-Inspired Pulmonary Engineering
Engineering cell culture platforms that precisely and consistently mimic the dynamic and complex architecture, composition and mechanical properties of lung tissue to study lung disease and regeneration
Hello
Phototunable Hybrid-Hydrogel Biomaterials
The project I worked on while in this lab involved attaching a photodegradable functional group to hybrid hydrogel precursors. This work was done with the goal of enabling our hydrogels to be dynamically softened after they were stiffened using UV light. This would allow our models to replicate lung activity when a patient is recovering from a disease.

Education through Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities Poster:
Synthesizing photodegradable biomaterials to study chronic lung diseases
My research was funded by the Education through Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (EUReCA) Grant. I prepared and presented this poster at the Research and Creative Activities Symposium during the spring 2022 semester.
